Description

The tour up to the southern slopes of the Münster Valley starts with the ascent via Valchava to Lü. In the mountain village of Lü, turn right and continue uphill on an alpine road to Alp Tablatdatsch at 2245 meters above sea level. Here you have a wonderful view of the Münstertal valley and the Ortler opposite. Magnificent! This is where the long descent to Müstair begins, which is initially more of a fun singletrail traverse. You pass the Lai da Valpaschun and then reach the Alp Terza Sura. You now roll out of the valley on a gravel path until the singletrail down to Müstair starts on the left. This is marked as a hiking trail and rides past Ruinatscha directly into the center of Müstair. A first-class trail, and often rideable almost all year round when there is little snow. To return to the starting point of Sta. Maria, follow the road or, a little later, the official mountain bike route parallel to it.

At the turn-off after 16.8 km into the last hairpin bends down to Müstair, there is now also a bike ban, which is why the singletrail over the meadows to Müstair should already be ridden at 15.8 km (point 1601). Basically a very beautiful - and varied - tour with great views over the Val Müstair to the Ortler group. We started the tour from the Pass dal Fuorn.

Beautiful tour. Unfortunately on 02.06.2019 there was still a lot of snow on the descent up to almost 2,000 meters above sea level, had to push the bike again and again!
