Rode the trail today.
You have to like hairpin bends, otherwise you're in the wrong place here. At the top the hairpin bends are on loose gravel and narrow, further down in the forest very rooty and with steps, not easy to ride. I had to dismount at 1/4.
The path along the stream to Franzenhöhe is rideable: at the bottom they have moved the path up a bit and bypassed the critical section.
The path after the chairlift from Trafoi is very steep again, but mostly rideable. From the highest point, we descend on a rooty Tradakopf trail down to the Munwarter trail. Unfortunately, due to a recent forest fire, this was closed to pedestrians and hikers without any detour!
We were then forced to ride along the forest path to Stilfs village. There we turned off into the Agumser Berwal. This was also a bad idea as the path was washed away at the bottom, it was very dangerous and not recommended.
Find out from a tourist office or the municipality of Stilfs village where you can drive through as an alternative. We then rode around the pass road.

Rode the trail on 7/28, only now getting around to commenting.... But the tips still apply:
- Attention, below Franzenshöhe at approx. 1970m do not ride the original trail from the pass road down to Trafoierbach. A large part of the trail is washed away down there, you can't get through (on a bike) without great risk. I climbed back up to the road... There would have been a sign to stop me from taking this detour... About 50m further on there is a small singletrail down to the next bend in the road, a little later you follow the little bouquet into the valley and reach the lower part of the trail.
- Yes, there are many hairpin bends that I can't ride in the lowest part (really very narrow and exposed...). But it doesn't matter, the trail is otherwise fun and flowing, even if you have to dismount a few times and turn the bike around ;-)
- The "flowing trail" from the barracks down to Trafos is also partly affected by storms. You need a little more time...
- The chairlift does not take people until 12.20 (not only until 12.00). Then again from 13.30.

Beautiful, tough and always an experience. The first part is a bit stressful, as you have to reach the valley station of the chairlift in Trafoi before 12:00 noon. There are no long breaks - unless you want to wait at the valley station until 13:30.

A very impressive tour through various vegetation zones, nicknamed the hairpin bend massacre in front of a dream backdrop, which has a somewhat negative impact on the flow.

Today 02.10.16 the Trafoi chairlift was unfortunately closed (bad weather?). Took the bus back to Stilfserjoch and the hiking trail along the Umbrail pass road. Was a nice alternative
