Besery
Description
The highlight of the tour is the viewpoint on the ridge of the Pointe de Bésery. To the left, Mont Blanc rises into the sky with its countless secondary peaks, the Dents du Midi form the horizon opposite and Lake Geneva can be seen to the right. This vantage point can be reached by a long climb from the Dorénaz cable car mountain station up to the Cabane du Scex Carro. Half of the route rides on an asphalt road and the other half on a gravel path. After the cabane, there is a few meters of pushing until you can finally ride up to the viewpoint on the trail. After the panoramic break comes the steep part of the tour. On the following section to the transition to the north side of the Pointe de Bésery, the bike has to be pushed again and again and eventually carried. The same applies to the first part of the descent, which is very difficult and steep. As soon as you reach the tree line, however, the downhill fun begins! A first-class trail leads to the Chalet Neuf mountain hut, from where it continues down to L'Au d'Arbignon. The real downhill highlight now follows: The trail down to Collonges is first-class. Steep, fast, agile, varied - the whole range of mountain bike preferences. Conclusion: a sensational route if you ignore the first few meters of the descent (which is bearable).

I would not recommend this variant at all. The section from the turn-off towards Portail de Fully (Pt. 2214) to about 100 m above Chalet Neuf is absolutely unrideable and, for me, well above the pain threshold. The descent from there is really not bad, even if it is permanently quite steep. If you want to do this descent, I recommend the "Rionda" tour, the descents of these two tours are identical.
