Brünnsteinhaus

Brünnsteinhaus

You can really torture yourself up the mountain to the Brunnsteinhaus. A light bike or e-bike prevents you from having to push. The Kaufmann-Kaser Trail is a wonderful nature trail with particularly steep sections and tight hairpin bends.

Description

The tour starts at the parking lot after Kiefersfelden. First on tarmac to Breitenau, then on gravel to Rechenau. This is where the uphill challenge begins, following steep ramp after ramp until you see the Brünnstein and the Brünnsteinhaus below. After a refreshment stop, you roll to the Himmelmoosalmen and turn left onto the Herrenalm trail. Before the Herrenalm, climb over the barbed wire fence on the left and follow the path until you reach the forest road. Ride along this until you reach a fork in the road and continue right to the Kaufmann-Kaser hut. Before the hut, the trail of the same name turns off to the left. Cross the meadow to the trees, then continue very steeply. Narrow hairpin bends follow and you ride into a sparse forest. The bends become wider and the roots increase. Very good riding technique is required here. At the bottom, you reach the Schmiedalm and continue on the forest road to the left. The gravel road leads to the access road and back to the parking lot.
