Trainsjoch
Description
Start at the first parking lot after the border and ride into the Nesseltal valley until the forest road ends and you continue on a trail. Then the ascent to the Wirtsalm begins. The bike must be carried. Past the Wirtsalm, a narrow forest road climbs steeply uphill. Opposite, we see the Brünnstein and soon ride past the Oberaudorf alpine pastures. You ride around the Trainsjoch and always up and down on various forest roads. At a junction, the road climbs steeply up to the Trainsalm. You can stop for a bite to eat at the Trainsalm or at the larger Mariandlalm on the Austrian side. Past the Trainsalm, continue up the forest road to the end. Then push or carry the bike until you reach the saddle. Look back and enjoy the magnificent panorama. The view sweeps over to the Kaiser Mountains and into the Inn Valley. Now begins the long downhill trail to the Marinadlalm, sometimes very exposed, but most sections are easy to ride. The level of difficulty is S3. Ride past the Mariandlalm on a section of forest road and then continue on the trail, which leads back onto the forest road to Ursprung. In Ursprung, ride right onto the state road, cross the border and arrive at the parking lot.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
