Forte Pramand
Description
The tour starts in the small village of Salbertrand. From here, take the Strada Statale 24 del Monginevro in the direction of Forte Fenil and then the military road with its panoramic views to the high point of the tour at Forte Pramand at 2162 m above sea level. Forte Pramand is also a top vantage point in the middle of the Susertal valley, especially in autumn and spring it is a place to recharge your batteries and linger. The trail starts directly at the position and winds its way westwards via the Grotta dei Saraceni to Auberge Inferiore. Similar to a 3-course menu, the trail has it all. From difficulty S2-S3 to trail surfing, everything is on offer here. From Auberge Inferiore, this interplay continues. A short uphill section winds its way along the entire ridge towards Salbertrand on difficulty S2, S3 in places, and S1 back to the starting point, where culinary highlights from the region await. The tour is particularly recommended in autumn or spring, as the low altitude and the effectiveness of this tour mean that a few trail meters are no longer necessary.

I expected a bit more flow in the description and was accordingly disappointed by the tour. As usual in the Western Alps, the ascent is quite strenuous but easy to ride. There is a sign saying that the road is closed due to a landslide, but we didn't see anything. The view is really beautiful when you ride up to the fort. The descent is then Lake Garda-style, full of loose, coarse stones. The counter-climb is barely rideable, at one point so steep that I decided to carry the bike. Then a very narrow path that was so overgrown that you had to ride on luck in places. In short: constantly dismounting because of something didn't give me any flow at all.
Great tour, with an e-bike the uphill can be pimped with a few cool trails!
