Jochgrimm - Weisshorn

Singletrail Dolomiten

The tour to Jochgrimm below the Weisshorn is one of the classic tours in the Deutschnofen region. The tour impresses with its magnificent surroundings, varied routes with a good proportion of trails and an extremely large number of worthwhile refreshment stops.

Description

After the start in Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, the first ascent is to the Lavazejoch, 500 meters further up. This ascent proves to be pleasant because it rides along well-maintained asphalt and gravel roads. In this way, you reach the Lavazejoch, the passage down into the Val di Fiemme, through the Schwarzenbach valley. However, we stay on South Tyrolean soil and climb a little further up to the Jochgrimm at the foot of the Weisshorn and circle the Weisshorn on a gravel road on its north-eastern side. Here you have the opportunity to significantly increase the amount of singletrack by taking the Weisshorn-Höhenweg trail a little further up. To reach the start, however, you have to push your bike almost to the top station of the chairlift (not in operation in summer) at Jochgrimm (200 vertical meters). But the effort is worth it for single trail fans. A little south of the Weisshorn, the trail and gravel road come together, and from here it's a mix of flowing trails and gentle gravel roads past the Kösertalsattel down to the pilgrimage site of Maria Weissenstein. You could now take a fairly direct route back to Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen, but we climb a little again to ride from the lovely plateau above the Rohrbach stream over a few additional single trails back to Nova Ponente/Deutschnofen.
