Sajathütte
Description
The starting point of the tour is Prägraten in Virgental (East Tyrol). From here, follow the official cycle route, briefly on asphalt and later on gravel, steadily uphill towards Timmelbach/Timmeltal. Shortly before the end of the gravel road (just below the Eissee lake), turn left and take the panoramic high trail to the Sajathütte hut. This section is partly pedalable, although most of it has to be pushed. The Saja hut, also known as the "castle in the mountains", is in an absolutely fantastic location with an impressive view and offers a good opportunity to fortify yourself for the descent.
The descent begins with difficulty levels S1 and S2. Long crossings with serpentines lend a strong Western Alps flair up to the tree line. You then continue along the high trail in the same manner towards Prägraten. Finally, you reach the Oberbichl/Bichl area, switch to asphalt and follow a varied trail at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, which eventually leads you to the main road. After a short turn-off towards Prägraten, the tour comes to an end.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.

Attention:
Mountain bikers are "persona non grata" at the Sajathütte!
The landlady of the hut, who is also the owner of the alpine pasture, drew our attention to the ban on bikes in a rather unfriendly manner when we stopped for refreshments...and then shouted at us loudly from 300 m away on the descent.
As beautiful as this tour is, I won't be doing it again!
