Really highly recommended. Be sure to buy a day pass (cheaper than 2 trips with a half-fare travelcard) and ride the Häxutrail. Very fun. Driving is prohibited at the Gsteig chapel, but a good alternative is to turn left down the hiking trail at the sports field (approx. 500m before). The tour ends in Brigerbad.

We rode the tour 3 days ago. Super cool and highly recommended! We cranked up to Blatten. 600m along the road. There wasn't much traffic and it was very ok. We wanted to start on the hiking trail. But it was too steep to ride. Then we took the road. We bought a day pass at the gondola lift and went down the Häxutrail first. Really cool and highly recommended! Then we followed the track. Really cool also in terms of the panorama. Definitely recommended to do it again.

A very beautiful and scenic tour.
Today we rode the tour as far as the Warbflie parking lot. At the start of the hiking trail towards Gsteig Kappelle there is (recently) a ban on bikes.
We then took the hiking trail to Unner Warbflie. From there we continued down to Brigerbad. The path is no longer so difficult but still beautiful.

We rode the tour on 20.10.24 in good conditions.
06.44 Zurich main station direct to Brig. Postbus to Blatten. There we bought a day ticket for the cable car, discounted with the SBB day ticket. Rode down the Häxe Trail three times from Belalp to the valley station. Really cool trail.
Then the trail here. It corresponds for a long time to the Schweiz Mobil Tour 157 (Nesselloop) and is well signposted as such. So we followed the signs and then found ourselves on the road above Brig, where the Nesselloop ends, we had missed the turn-off for the ride tour. So we rode on the road until we were back on it. But we didn't get much further. The area was divided into sheep pastures by electric fences and a Valais native explained to us very clearly that this was private land and that it was forbidden to pass through. So we rode back on the road towards Brig. We found a hiking trail on Komoot, which saved us having to ride everything on the road.

The Nesselloop or Belalp tour is a really brilliant trail, S2(+) to S3 in some places. Technically varied. The landscape is very beautiful and the autumn colors are simply brilliant.

A fantastic trail! But it's even better if you buy the bike day ticket right away to include more trails. First, you can push the few meters up to the Tyndalldenkmal to take the middle section of the Sparrhorn tour under your wheels (to Blatten). After the second cable car ride, it's onto the well-signposted Häxutrail and the crowning glory is then the conclusion via the Nesselboden Trail described here. This takes you to over 3000 Elevation loss of fantastic downhill fun. Or more, because the cable car rides until late in the evening, and all three trails have addictive potential...

I would skip the lower part towards Visp next time. Rather disappointing compared to the rest of the descent

Very scenic with truly magnificent views! The first part corresponds to the signposted Schweizmobil tour. Crisp and varied, I loved it! Unfortunately a lot of asphalt at the bottom, then from Mund along the Suone almost as far as Visp.
From Belalp you can do the other signposted tour (several times) directly down to the gondola lift before doing this tour to Visp, which fills up the day perfectly.

I rode the tour again in June 22 after a break of around three years. Still a highlight, but the descent has become a bit rougher due to all the riding and there is a bike ban in the lowest part of the singletrail. Worthwhile all the same.

Dear bikers
at the moment the trail is hidden under one to two meters of snow and is recovering from the summer. In a few months, however, many bikers will be riding down this fantastic trail again.
Here's a tip for those who have to ride back to Bern-Zurich by public transport after their bike adventure.
If you want a safe place on the train and especially for your bike, get on the train in Brig. There is always a huge crowd in Visp because bikes coming from different directions are massed there.
In my opinion, Visp is only suitable as a boarding point if you want to get on the train early in the morning or very late in the evening (after 8.00 pm).

Great tour. I agree with the previous comment. An alternative route must be chosen from Mund onwards. Especially if e-bikers are involved. 04.09.20.

A super tour.
On the Belalp you have a fantastic view as far as the Aletsch glacier.
The start is flowy and leads over alpine meadows and partly along a bisse to the start of the descent, which can be quite demanding in places, but is great fun.
From Mund, the descent to Visp is not very exciting.
My alternative is to have lunch in Birgisch at the village square and then take the descent to Naturns.
