Fiescheralp Enduro-Tour
Description
The mountain railroad takes you to the starting point of the tour from Fiesch. Starting from the Fiescheralp, a gravel road rides around 200 meters in altitude to the Tälligrat Tunnel. Through this approximately one-kilometre-long passage, you reach the Märjelen plateau. The path to the natural viewing platform with its fabulous view of the Great Aletsch Glacier is a good one kilometer long, but well worth the effort. On a clear day, the view extends over the Konkordiaplatz to the Jungfraujoch, with its striking "Sphinx" weather station. The Gletscherstube restaurant at Märjelensee is ideally located for refreshments before the descent. Immediately afterwards, the challenging trail begins around the Tälligrat and via Unners Tälli back to Fiescheralp. The first part of the trail is particularly challenging. A short stop for the view down to the Fiescher glacier and later for the view of the snow-covered peaks of the Mischabel group, Matterhorn and Weisshorn is well worthwhile. After a short counter-climb, first over a few steps on the hiking trail uphill, then over a gravel road, the second part of the magnificent tour follows with the singletrail descent from the Fiescheralp to Fiesch. Passing Fiescherstafel and Stirnig, you reach the valley station at Fiesch train station via partly steep and often dusty trails in the direction of Fieschertal.
