Moosalp-Gspon
Description
The Postbus initially takes you from Visp to Moosalp. Beware, the Postbus can "only" carry six bikes on the back - and there are usually other bikers who want to join them. The highest point is reached at Moosalp, and the descent starts right at the pass on an alpine road. However, this soon turns into a singletrail, and a super route takes you to Breitmatte and then along the long trail to the edge of the forest at Törbel. You pass the village, with the trail continuing just below the last houses. The Törbelbach stream is crossed and a trail takes you to the little road to Emd. Right by the church, the trail descent continues on the old access route to the mountain village. Above Kalpetran, keep left and follow the mountain trail to Stalden. Here it would be possible to take the gondola up to Gspon, but we tackle this on our own. Climb up the little road to Staldenried and follow the route towards Gspon. Keep left at the first houses and head up the path towards the Gibidumpass. A little below the well-known pass, turn left again, now on the descent to Giw (chairlift mountain station). The descent continues unabated to the Suone, which rides to Ara on the Begrücken high above Visp. Now the final fireworks begin. The serpentine trail via Hotee to Visp is a world-class flow trail. It ends right at the entrance to Visp

Moosalp-Pletsche hiking trail closed, numerous fallen trees, clearing work in progress.
Otherwise I can agree with the (alternative) route recommendations of the previous writers.
The Phoenix Trail is also currently closed, but the regular hiking trail is also beautiful.
Super tour!
Caution: All shortcuts through the village of Törbel are prohibited for bikes and, according to a local resident, buses are distributed...
Rode today 11.07.24...

'Gufersch Bode' is closed due to falling rocks. Had to ride down the road to Stalden...
The descent from Moosalp via Pletsche to Embd is more rewarding (SwitzerlandMobility route 543 Kalpetran Enduro). From Embd, follow the track again to Kalpetran.
Descent from Giw, first follow SwitzerlandMobility route 548 (Giw Enduro), then after the Riedbach crossing follow the original track along the narrow path along a bisse, from about Gugla follow route 548 again to an altitude of 1330 m, do not go down to the road there, but follow the track to the right, the trail runs parallel above the road. At the end of the road, the Phoenix Trail (again Route 548), newly built in 2024, begins in the forest fire area of 2011 above Visp - a great ride on a super steep slope, the trail is built by hand and beautifully adapted to the terrain - a super job, thanks Vast!
A beautiful tour with endless bompastic trails. At km 37.5 it is worth taking a small detour to the Gibidumpass. The trail from there back to the original route (at 38.7 km) is heavenly. At 43.6 km, do not turn left into the meadow, but stay on the trail. This soon leads back to the Ride route. I don't understand why you should ride through the meadow here. The trail is much nicer.
The hiking trail from the Moosalp is signposted as no driving. The official bike route follows the asphalt road, but shortly afterwards leads to the ingenious single trail to Törbel. In Törbel, biking is prohibited everywhere on the footpath through the village, so stay on the marked bike route here too, i.e. on the road. The descent from Embd is steep but easy to ride. The trails from Gpon to Visp are awesome!
The route starts with a driving ban and a baby carriage path. But it gets better and better. ATTENTION: Before Stalden there is no longer a hiking trail, only a large construction site which is not passable. Be sure to take the road to Stalden-Saas. The ascent to Gspon is easy for a long time, but gets quite steep towards the end. The descent is beautiful and varied.
I've done this tour twice now. This time with my father. Fahter n Son Ride. We took the chairlift from the Haide village 2 more times. This resulted in around 5000 Elevation loss. The day was first class. The trails are very flowy. less technical, can only recommend the tour.

There are better descents from the Moosalp... but ok.
The descent to Visp is simply great and varied.
The Panorana is also wonderful.
Highly recommended
The first part of the tour, from Moosalp down to Stalden, is not so great. There are better descents from Moosalp! In the first part, a lot of vertical meters are lost on asphalt, very frustrating.
The second part is good, but at the top it's better to go up to Gibidumsee.
Cheers D.
Hi Damian, would you have any tips for an alternative on the first part of the route from Moosalp?
Greetings
A.
Do you have any suggestions for better descents to Stalden?
Checked
The Stalden - Gspon aerial cableway is out of service until the end of 2018 due to renovation work.
The start of this tour rides along a popular hiking trail. Appropriate speed and friendly greetings are the order of the day. However, your patience soon pays off, as the subsequent trail to Törbel (and the rest of the tour) is an excellent flow trail.
