Casera Valine si Selva

The somewhat hidden but very rewarding and epic all-mountain tour at Lago di Ca Selva offers a fantastic "Bike & Hike" tour with the Casera Valine in combination with the Forcella Racli.

Description

The tour starts below Borgata Chiarzuela at Lago di Tramonti. From here, you initially pedal a few meters on asphalt towards Borgata Staligial and then the first trail section of around 150 metres downhill towards Lago di Ca Selva. The descent is on difficulty level S2, occasionally S3, and is the perfect warm-up for the uphill, which ultimately leads to Casera Valine. Initially on asphalt, later on gravel, you wind your way steadily upwards through beech forests. At an altitude of around 1350 meters above sea level, the pedalling comes to an end and you reach a relatively open plateau that offers a good view to the north. A hike can then be added to the Forcella Racli, which enhances the panoramic views.

The downhill trail begins slightly below the mountain pasture and is classified as S2 difficulty for the most part. Through beech forests and on countless limestones, the trail descends steadily to the reservoir. A long and not to be underestimated descent finally leads back to the ascent route. Here you roll back down the road on asphalt to Lago di Ca Selva, cross the impressive dam and roll the last few meters back to the starting point on asphalt.
