Crikvenica is not only a small harbor town in Croatia, but also offers a perfect starting point for a varied and scenic tour in the Obla area with countless historical trails.

Description

The tour starts in Crikvenica. From here, the route rides on asphalt and gravel up to the ruins/church of St. Simon and Judas Thaddeus. The slight ascent of just under 100 meters in altitude already offers the first interesting trail descent to the north, followed by another ascent. Follow the asphalt road for a short while before turning left and pedaling up a historic brick path. This takes you to the viewpoint below Obla Kavranova Stena. Despite the low absolute altitude, but due to the lack of trees and vegetation, this point offers a magnificent view towards Krk and the Mediterranean. The second trail descent also begins here. Similar to the first descent with difficulty levels S1 and S2, this leads over gravel and through typical karst, through forests to the main road and finally back to the coastal settlement area and the starting point.

As the tour is at low altitude, the summer months of July and August are not particularly advisable due to extremely high temperatures and thorny vegetation.
