Lovranska Draga - Medveja

The small village of Lovranska Draga on the Kvarner Bay offers a challenging trail descent with its moderate ascent, which ends in Medveja at a beautiful bay.

Description

The tour starts in the small village of Lovran below the town center of Stari grad. From here, the route follows secondary roads and the official Učka bike route on asphalt with fantastic views of the islands of Krk and Cres to the small village of Lovranska Draga. With an ascent of around 400 meters, it is not really challenging, but also the ideal tour in the summer months to avoid arriving at the beach grilled. In Lovranska Draga, the ascent ends in the village near the chapel at the water point.

Here you can replenish your water reserves, which you will also need for the descent. Initially on gravel, later on S1 and S2, and occasionally S3, the route descends to Autocamp Medveja on hairpin bends, rock gardens and a few key sections. Especially in the summer months, the temperature here reaches 30 degrees in the morning on the south-facing slopes. An early start is therefore essential. Once you arrive in Medveja and at the beach, you can cool off in the crystal-clear water and stop for a bite to eat at the restaurants before returning to Lovran along the coastal road.
