Wildkogel – Ridge-Ride
Description
Start in Bramberg am Wildkogel. From this point, the route climbs steadily up a mountain road to the Wildkogel Haus. Almost entirely on asphalt and gravel, the "forest highway" winds its way up for what feels like half an eternity in the upper section with a top panorama. Note: The ascent is also possible with the Wildkogel cable car without any effort. After passing the Wildkogel-Haus, it is only a few meters to the reservoirs, where the pedalable section ends. From the chapel, you can push or carry your bike to the summit (2224 meters above sea level). A 360-degree deluxe panorama awaits you at the top. From the Kitzbühel Alps to the Hohe Tauern National Park, as well as areas of Pinzgau, you can let your gaze wander.
The trail descent is also legendary. From the summit, it is a mix of S1 and S2 down the entire mountain ridge to the east. An incredible surfing feeling is created before you enter the forest. Here the trail remains at difficulty S2 and rides towards the bottom of the valley. Here you reach asphalt again under the studs and take the last trail cut-offs before pedaling back to Bramberg am Wildkogel on the cycle path in Mühlbach. All in all, a top mountain bike tour, which is an absolute highlight in the Alps, especially in autumn with good visibility and colored vegetation.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.

Rode this year in the middle of August on a sunny Sunday afternoon, except at the top station it was very quiet. There wasn't a single person to be seen on the trail, which is even more fun when it's really dry.
Did it yesterday with the e-bike - thanks to the push assistance, the last 50 meters in altitude are strenuous, but no problem. The ascent is relaxed with a wonderful panorama. The trail is fun, it has it all. After the end of the cable car's operating hours, I didn't meet a single person down in the valley. Thanks for the great tour!
