Bocchetta Trelina

The beautiful tour from Bormio rides up to the lakes in the Valle di Fraéle and along wonderful trails into the Valle del Braulio.

Description

From Bormio, ride along the cycle path to Premadio, where you cross the main road to the old gravel road that leads to the Fraele reservoirs. After 700 meters of ascent, turn left to Decauville. A few kilometers further on, turn right and tackle the steep ascent into Val Vezzola, which later becomes a trail and is no longer rideable in places until you reach Bocchetta Trelina. After the pass, a bumpy trail leads to Alpe Trela. The tour then continues on a gravel road through the Val Pittini down to the Fraele reservoirs. Cross the dam wall between the lakes and then turn right before turning left towards Boscopiano at the end of the lakes. At a small parking lot, turn right again and enjoy the descent to the Stelvio pass road. Now either head straight back to Bormio or first to the thermal baths of Bagni Vecchi.

Alternatives: The tour can also be ridden in the opposite direction, in which case you can also choose the singletrail route through the Bocche di Trela
