Monte Braulio

Bocchetta di Forcola

The Monte-Braulio tour is a variant of the well-known Bocchetta di Forcola route with start and finish in Bormio.

Description

The ascent begins in the center of Bormio and rides along the Stelvio Pass road to Malga di Bormio. Here you turn left onto an old military road that rides up to the Bocchetta di Forcola. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle to the Umbrail Pass (cab service in Bormio or post bus line Müstair-Tirano) and from there follow the single trail to the Bocchetta di Forcola. Now head downhill on the old military road and at the first opportunity turn left up to Bocchetta di Pedenolo. The descent offers countless hairpin bends and later becomes a spectacular singletrail in an impressive rock face. In the valley, you reach the gravel road to Lago di Cancano again. From here, you can now cross the dam wall and return to Bormio via the gravel path, or turn off before the dam wall to Boscopiano and enjoy the descent on this side to Bormio.

Alternatives: At Bocchetta di Forcola, there are several single trails to choose from, all of which ride into Valle Forcola.
