Lenkjöchl-Hütte
Description
The tour starts in Prettau. The last few meters of the main road to the end of the valley towards Kasern are relaxed. You descend deeper and deeper towards the end of the valley before a relatively steep section leads up towards the Labesaualm. The path changes more and more and finally becomes a multi-stage trail, which alternately pedals or pushes you up to the Lenkjöchlhütte. The grandiose Lenkjöchl is embedded in the 3000 m peaks, such as the Ahrner Kopf or the Untere Rötspitze.
After a stop at the hut, the downhill begins. This descent offers everything between S1 and S3. Quite flowy in the upper section, past the Rötkreuz, the final section is a little more technical through a historic mining area and finally along the health trail back to the starting point in Prettau.
Note: Ideally, this tour is just as perfect in the fall, as the western exposure is practically at the feet of a sundowner. In the summer months of July and August, you can expect a higher number of hikers. The tour can also be done from the Labesaualm to the Joch and this route can then be chosen as the descent. Difficulty level S2 is to be expected here.
