Kasseler Hütte – 8er-Trail

Kasseler Hütte (Taufers)

The Kasseler Hütte under the Tristennöckl on the way to the Magerstein is a fantastic, high alpine hut in the Rieserferner Group that offers a full range of services. The tour offers a great singletrail descent with the 8er trail.

Description

The starting point of the tour is Rein in Taufers. From here, the route starts out on gravel, albeit relatively steeply, up to around 1800 meters above sea level. This is where the hiking trail number 8 begins, which you then follow, pushing and carrying, to the Kasseler Hütte. Fantastic landscapes, initially in coniferous forests and later above the tree line, are just waiting to be explored - just like the Kasseler Hütte. Culinary delights of the highest standard can be enjoyed here with a clear conscience.

At difficulty level S2 to S3, take trail number 8 towards Eppacher Alm. This then continues downhill towards Säge. In places, however, the bike has to be pushed. There are massive washouts and waterlogging, especially at stream crossings. From the Säge, you then follow a first-class flow trail back to Rein in Taufers.
