Monte Cesen – Monte Zogo
Description
The tour begins in the picturesque village of Valdobbiadene, beautifully situated at the foot of Monte Orsere. From there, an asphalt road rides steadily uphill over a few hairpin bends, offering impressive panoramic views, especially in the upper section below Monte Orsere up to Monte Barbaria. At this point, most of the uphill section has been completed. The route continues to Malga Mariech, from where you already have an unobstructed view of Monte Cesen. You then leave the asphalt road and switch to a single trail/karpath that rides up to the top of Monte Cesen. From here, you can enjoy views as far as San Martino and, especially in autumn, the Mediterranean seems close enough to touch thanks to the dry, cool air.
The first intermediate downhill then begins. With difficulty levels S1 and S2, the trail rides along the ridge, with the lower section through the beech forest being a little rougher. This is followed by a counter-climb to Monte Zogo, which marks the last highest point of the tour. The panoramic views are just as impressive as those of Monte Cesen, and the route then descends again. The trail rides along the ridge, mostly without difficulty in combination with S1 and S2, to Milies. Caution is advised on an intermediate section, as there is a jump in the trail near the forest road. An idyllic trail follows directly to Stramare, also with difficulties S1, occasionally S2. A river is briefly crossed at Stramare before the final stage begins. The so-called I Guadi Trail leads to the valley floor near Segosino and finally briefly along the main road back to the starting point.
