Monte Erio Double
Description
The mountain bike tour starts on the western Asiago plateau in the small village of Mezzaselva. Located right along the main road, the route initially follows an asphalt road steadily uphill toward Rifugio Campolongo. From there, the trail winds its way up a slightly narrower road and a trail toward Monte Erio. Once you reach the highest point of the mountain bike tour, you’ll find yourself at an idyllic hut on a gentle ridge with sweeping views of the surrounding Italian Pre-Alps.
This is where the descent begins. It offers a mix of technical sections and smooth stretches on forest trails with loose limestone, leading down toward Roana. The overall difficulty ranges between S1 and S2+ and offers a varied ride on “Trail 803.” Afterward, you can roll back to the starting point or tackle another ascent. This second ascent option is somewhat rougher than the first, also leads to Monte Erio, and ultimately features a similar descent. This descent leads back to the small village of Roana and, similar to the first descent option at the same difficulty level, offers an interesting mix of trails. The route then returns to the starting point of the mountain bike tour.
