Monte Rust

The all-mountain tour from Lastebasse to Monte Rust spoils bikers with historic paths and lush trail descents.

Description

Start in Carotte, not far from Lastebasse. From here, you pedal up the Strada Statale di Folgaria e Val d'Astico on asphalt with a moderate gradient to Nosellari and then on towards Prá di Sopra. From Prá di Sopra you then cross a singletrail as an alternative to the asphalt road and finally reach the finale to Monte Rust. The route is relatively steep and follows a rough path at the beginning and later a military road to the highest point of the tour (1282 meters above sea level). The heavy windthrow in 2018 left its mark here, but it is also thanks to this damage that you have a good view at the summit.

The downhill awaits as a reward for the uphill. Initially, the route continues along the military road at difficulty level S0 before taking a few singletrail sections at difficulty level S2 past Lago di Lavarone and on to Piccoli. From Piccoli, the trail then has different levels of difficulty and varies greatly with the classification. On S2 and S3, the route then leads back to Carotte.

Note: Before starting the tour, be sure to enquire whether there is still logging work taking place after the storm damage in 2018, as this is still ongoing. (as of 2022)
