Monte Agaro

Monte Agaro in Valsugana is a former military position from the First World War and offers an epic and eternal trail descent over the southern ridge.

Description

The tour starts with the uphill in Castello Tesino, a picturesque village near the Val Sugana. The constant ascent is on asphalt along the SP79. Then turn right to the Albergo Chalet Abete Rosso di Milan Manola and continue the ascent on asphalt and gravel with a moderate gradient. You then rejoin the highway towards Passo Brocon and leave it a little below the ski area to reach the summit. The view of Monte Agaro is impressive, especially in autumn, when the view is far-reaching and the terrain drops steeply to the west.

The descent is another highlight of the tour. The difficulties are mainly S1, in places S2. It goes downhill on a few hairpin bends, although it is rarely necessary to shift the rear wheel. The route rides through the forest and eventually approaches the old Mulattiera trail in the direction of Casa Biolchi. This path is officially designated for riders, hikers and cyclists, so it is important to be considerate. The path leads back to Castello Tesino with a short ascent to the main road SP79 before finally returning to the starting point. The tour offers picturesque landscapes and can be enjoyed in all its splendor, especially in autumn. If there is little snow, it can even be done in November.
