Pezinerspitze
Description
The starting point of this alpine tour is the village of See in the lower Paznaun Valley. On a well-maintained gravel road, you initially wind your way up to the picturesque village of Außerlangesthei. From there, the route continues uphill in numerous hairpin bends to the avalanche barriers below the Pezinerspitze. This is where the alpine section begins: there are still around 250 meters to climb to the summit, most of which are tackled by pushing. The ascent is also possible on an e-mountain bike. Individual sections can even be ridden, with the push assist being used again and again in between.
At the summit at 2550 meters above sea level, a breathtaking panoramic view opens up. Deep below lies the Paznaun valley with the Silvretta group in the background. To the north, the Inn Valley stretches out with its long mountain ranges.
The descent begins in a challenging manner: an S4 trail rides over the ridge and through the shady northern flank. As soon as you reach the alpine meadows, the trail becomes noticeably smoother. The absolute highlight follows in the forest: a seemingly endless, moss-green S2 trail with occasional S3 passages winds its way through the sparse forest - playful, rhythmic and technical. Low down, the trail joins a gravel road. From there, you climb slightly uphill again on the right to reach the trail to Glittstein - another beautiful section that winds through the terrain. The last few meters back to See finally roll out relaxed on a small asphalt road.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
