Tuxer Joch: 65-Kurven-Trail
Description
The route starts in the northern Wipptal valley in St. Jodok am Brenner. From here, you wind your way up the entire Schmirntal valley on asphalt through a breathtakingly diverse landscape to Kasern. You plunge deeper and deeper towards the Tux Alps and there is a touch of Western Alps flair as you pedal up the 65 hairpin bends to the Tuxer Joch. Completely rideable for biobikers with good fitness, a real treat for e-mountainbikers. At the Tuxer Joch (2338 meters above sea level) you have a breathtaking panoramic view of the Olperer, Gefrorenen-Wand-Spitzen and the Tuxer Ferner. You also have a great view of the trail descent that lies ahead.
The entire ascent route with its 65 hairpin bends leads back down. Only on difficulty level S1, but a real treat in this beautiful landscape alone. The route then heads back out of the valley towards Kasern, where you can stop for a bite to eat. Traditional Tyrolean-style dishes are served here. Afterwards, you roll comfortably downhill through the Schmirntal valley, before finally taking another short uphill section towards Hochgeneinerhof (1643 meters above sea level) to descend the 39er trail to St. Jodok. This runs in places at an upper S2 level of difficulty and is a highlight in this region.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
