Forte Geremia
Description
The route begins just below the coast, at the Santuario di Nostra Signora delle Grazie. From here, a narrow, steadily ascending road leads uphill—at times offering stunning panoramic views of the Ligurian hills. At the pass, you switch to an old military road that leads directly to the Forte on a gravel surface. This imposing fortress is located in the western Ligurian Apennines and was built during the time of the Kingdom of Italy. Its purpose was to control the Passo del Turchino and the adjacent valleys. Today, the Forte is in remarkably good condition and, in addition to its historical charm, even offers a place to stop for refreshments.
The descent begins at the defense complex. It leads over typical Ligurian terrain—a mixture of gravel and rock—and offers sweeping views right from the start. In the upper section, the difficulty is S2, with some S3 sections, before the trail becomes increasingly smooth and continues at a consistent S2 level down into the valley. Finally, you reach Gorsezio, a small settlement. You wind your way back to the starting point at a leisurely pace via side roads and short trail sections.

The steep climb is definitely worth it; the upper section is a bit overgrown with thorns. The lower section in the forest is just wonderful.
I can agree with the comment. The second section was freshly mown, then the trail has to be anticipated a little.
But still a cool round
A lot of heart and soul has been invested in the trails - signs with names, a children's bike at the edge, very good drainage in places. Unfortunately, some of them have been very badly washed out by the weather. Most of the trails seem to be rarely ridden and some are very overgrown. Too bad about the varied route.
