Sefinafurgga – Blüemlisalp
Description
The tour starts at Interlaken train station with a train ride to Lauterbrunnen and from there a cable car to Grütschalp - the actual starting point of the route. You roll comfortably up to Winteregg, then climb up to Oberberg, from where you follow the "Mountain View Trail" to Schiltalp. Now the tour shows its ruthless character for the first time with the carrying passage to Wasenegg - it won't be the last! You are rewarded with the sensational single trail to the Rotstockhütte, from where the next carrying passage awaits. From here, it's just under 600 meters in altitude to Sefinafurgga, and the trail is even rideable at times. On the Furgga, you can enjoy the sensational panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau once again before the fun descent to the Dürreberg-Alp begins at the bottom of the wooden staircase. A short stretch of gravel road is the order of the day before the next feat of strength awaits at Alp Gamchi: the 1200-metre ascent to the Blüemlisalphütte. The reward: a hearty meal, a formidable panorama and a great single trail down to Lake Oeschinen. The route then rides down to Kandersteg on a mix of trails and small roads and then along the cycle route to Frutigen.
Tip: Ride the tour in two days and spend the night at the Rotstock and/or Blüemlisal hut.

I hiked over Sefinafurgga and Hohtürli last week and didn't see a single biker in two days!
fe.minder is right, effort and reward are disproportionate.
Full of anticipation, we started this tour exactly as described in Ride Magazine 02/2019. We started at Grütschalp and planned to spend the night at the Rotstockhütte and the Blüemlisalphütte. We knew that this tour would be tough, as it also says that the bike has to be shouldered. Yes, it does have to be shouldered and we pushed ourselves to our limits in terms of fitness. In the tour description, however, the descents are overrated "... the trails are simply outstanding... " Some of the trails are very rough and you often have to dismount. On the other hand, you ride on forest roads. For us, this tour is out of proportion between bike carrying and descending. Think carefully about whether you want to do this tour. We know many tours that reward you for such a tough ascent with an unforgettable descent. This tour is highly recommended as a hike without a bike.
