Batteria Alta Monte Chaberton
Description
The route starts a few meters above the village of Cesana Torinese. The route initially follows the wide pass road and later the parallel old road to Claviere. From here, the bike has to be pushed or carried up to the highest point of the tour, i.e. to the ruins of Batteria Alta. The ascent runs along the border between France and Italy. Once you reach an altitude of around 2200 meters above sea level, you can't help but be amazed. A huge bunker complex was built here in the last century, which is still in a tremendous state today. If you have a flashlight or a cell phone with good light with you, you can set off on an exploration tour here. However, you shouldn't miss out on the great panorama and a leisurely snack at the summit before heading downhill.
A newly constructed path (former military road) leads downhill on a few hairpin bends with flow passages before returning to the ascent route at the bottom. From here, you pedal upwards again and take the classic trail from Claviere through the gorge before returning to the starting point. Conclusion: 50 percent uphill, 50 percent downhill and a total of around six kilometers of trail under the cleats, which offer a lot of variety and are a good alternative to the big brother of Monte Chaberton.

Bike ban on the path through the gorge, lots of pedestrians, steep narrow stairs ... I think the numerous via ferrata supervisors wouldn't let bikers through either
