Le Grand Serre Che
Description
From the center of Briançon, take the gondola lift up to the Prorel mountain station. After a short start on a trail, a steep gravel road leads up to the ridge - an ideal warm-up for the following traverse section. This traverse trail requires attention, but is easy to ride in all but a few places and forms a perfect connection to the main area of Serre Chevalier. Instead of taking the official route - which leads down a steep gravel ramp to the chairlift - use the traverse to Col de la Ricelle and leave the signposted route again. The official route would now cross the area on wide, sometimes mercilessly steep gravel roads (interrupted by a trail ascent). In this trail version, you follow a path along the eastern flank of the ridge instead - a varied trail alternative via the Col de l'Eychauda and the Col du Cucumelle, where you meet up with the original route again. This continues on a flowing ridge trail to the Col du Grand Pré and thus to the start of the steep, technical descent to Le Monêtier-les-Bains.
In the upper section of the Grand Pré descent, you will find yourself on an alpine trail of difficulty S3. Further down, the trail becomes smoother, especially on the official bike park trails, which are great fun to ride. If you prefer a continuous flowing descent, you can already roll down to Bachas at the Col de l'Eychauda and join the bike park lines there.
On arrival at the valley floor, a mix of small roads and easy trails (S0) follows out of the valley - all the way back to Briançon if you wish. In this version, however, the Ratier gondola lift at Chantemerle is included. After another ascent on gravel, you reach a single trail high above the valley floor with great views, which finally rides down to the first houses of Briançon. The last section is on a cycle path back to the valley station of the Prorel gondola lift.

Before crossing the stream, a black trail rides directly into the valley. Simply extend the descent if you don't like bike park trails. (See Trailforks) but technically great
An eventful tour! We started in le Monetier le Bains and were able to buy the morning ticket for both ascents for 23.50 euros.
After the Col de la Pisse, the name says it all, the trail was not much fun for the next 3 km, it was too narrow for us to pedal. The descent can be made easier by taking the red variant in the upper section.
