Wiegalm

Wiegalm

The crossing from Brixenbach to the Spertental via the Wiegalm is a gentle transition into the Kitzbühel Alps. It offers a varied trail descent away from the hustle and bustle.

Description

The tour begins in Kirchberg in Tirol. The official bike route leads to Brixen im Thale and then uphill along the Brixenbach on a gravel path, with moderate to gentle inclines. Passing the Brixenbachalm, you’ll pedal your way up meter by meter through a stunning mountain panorama before reaching the Wiegalm snack bar at 1,500 meters above sea level. The alpine pasture is nestled gently in the landscape and retains a traditional, rustic charm. At the pass, the sweeping views extend from the Hohe Salve over the Pengelstein to the Schwarzkogel in the Kitzbühel Alps.

Then the descent begins. On a mix of S1 and S2-rated trails, the route leads steadily downhill past the Kobinger Hütte and smoothly along the official Wiegalm Trail toward Spertental. From Spertental, you ride back to Kirchberg on the official bike path along the Aschauer Ache.

Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
