Hagstein-Trail Kitzbühel

Hagstein-Trail (Kitzbühel)

If you are looking for a short but crisp trail loop in Kitzbühel, you will find it on the Hagstein Trail at the southern foot of the Kitzbüheler Horn.

Description

The tour starts below the Kitzbühel Hornbahn cable car. From here, you initially follow the asphalt road to Gasthof Hagstein and then follow the gravel road steadily uphill. At an altitude of just under 1,300 meters above sea level, turn left, take the short ascent of the dead end and then turn right onto the single trail.

After the comparatively short uphill of around 500 metres in altitude, beautiful views open up towards the Streif and Hahnenkamm as well as the sports town of Kitzbühel. The descent is at difficulty level S2, occasionally S3, and rides constantly downhill through wooded and open terrain. Several key sections require attention, especially the crossing of a ditch and the subsequent hairpin bends. The trail should only be ridden in dry conditions.

At the end, you reach the old Kitzbühel Hornweg, roll down the Hagsteinweg on asphalt and then ride past the Hotel Tennerhof. There you finish with a flowing trail section at difficulty level S1, which leads back to the starting point.

Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
