Lodron

Lodron

Those who conquer the Lodron in the Kitzbühel Alps by bike are treated to a magnificent mountain panorama and a challenging and varied trail descent.

Description

The starting point of the tour is Hopfgarten im Brixental. The route rides steadily uphill via the official Hopfgarten/Glantersberg circuit on asphalt and gravel to the Lodron Alm. A long, challenging but scenic ascent lies behind you before you finally shoulder or push your bike up to the summit (1925 meters above sea level). The highest point of the tour offers a 360-degree panorama in a class of its own. You can see everything from the Wilder Kaiser to the Brixental valley, the Inntal valley and the main Alpine ridge.

The trail descent is also outstanding, with an overall difficulty level of S2 to S3 and offers all kinds of attractions for ambitious all-mountain bikers. In the middle section, there are two places to push off before you finally reach the final trail towards Gasthaus Steinberg. Once you have arrived here, you roll back down the valley along the Windauer Ache towards the starting point of Hopfgarten im Brixental.

Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
