Kragenjoch – Bracherjoch
Description
The tour starts in Wörgl, in the commercial area or at the shopping centers. From here, you immediately leave the urban area and wind your way through biotopes on a small single trail until you reach the official cycle route, which rides along a serpentine forest road towards Wildschönau. Here you cycle up about 500 meters in altitude to Oberau. After a short downhill section on asphalt, you cross the Minzweg in cross-country style and continue riding on asphalt towards Borstadl. From Borstadl, the route continues on gravel to the Achentalalm, which is ideal for a refreshment stop. The ascent then becomes very steep and can only be pedaled in sections by "biobikers" (without an e-bike). The summit itself offers an inviting panorama to the south, west and east; it is heavily forested to the north.
Then comes a short descent with difficulty level S1, followed by a short uphill on gravel and a short pushing section before you reach the Bracherjoch. This is where the actual downhill begins. Between difficulty levels S1 and S2, the route runs pleasantly and evenly along the ridge. A short intermediate section secured by ropes will force some bikers to dismount. The bike should be pushed carefully here.
Finally, you reach the idyllically situated Bracheralm. Then follow the reflection trail with difficulty level S2, occasionally S3, towards Kundl. Above the Kundler Klamm gorge, you ride down the trail in alpine style with some great views. You then pass the shooting range and tackle a cross-country uphill and downhill with difficulty level S2 back to the Luna industrial estate and finally continue on asphalt to the starting point.
The tour is ideal for e-bikes, as the steep uphill sections and cross-country areas become a real pleasure with motorized support.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
