Rosskopf - Zaubersteig
Description
The starting point of the tour is Wörgl. From here, take the official cycle route towards Zauberwinkel and continue from the high plateau towards Oberau, as well as on asphalt to the Horlerstiege. This is a varied and idyllic uphill route with a gentle to medium gradient. From the Horlerstiege, the route continues above the Holzalm up to the Halsgatterl, before pushing or carrying the bike up to the Rosskopf at almost 1800 meters above sea level. The view from the summit is magnificent. The mountain is relatively isolated in the middle of the Wildschönau and offers panoramic views from the Hohe Tauern to the Karwendel.
The trail descent is just as magnificent, but should only be attempted in dry conditions. At difficulty levels S2 to S3, it is a typical root and forest trail via the Rosskopfhütte down to the Riedlhof and back to Oberau. From Oberau, the route continues on asphalt before finally turning onto the Zaubersteig trail above the Zauberwinkel, where you will also find a trail highlight with difficulty levels S1 to S2 and S3 in places. This trail rides to the Wörgl sports center.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
