Breslauer Hütte
Description
The tour starts in Vent in Ötztal. From here, the route climbs steadily uphill on a forest road along the south side to the Wildspitze mountain station. Above the tree line and with a fabulous panorama, the going is much easier. From the Wildspitze mountain station, the trail then becomes really steep and crosses in the direction of the Breslauer Hütte. Pedaling finally comes to an end at Rofenbach. Here the bike is pushed or carried to the Breslauer Hütte (2844 meters above sea level). The hut lies at the foot of the Wildspitze, which is not only the highest mountain in Tyrol, but also the second-highest in Austria.
The hut is a culinary and scenic highlight, but the downhill trail offers just as much. Initially at difficulty level S2, the route mainly runs along the Rofenbach stream towards Rofen. The difficulty level here can be set to S3 in places. A few key sections come above the hamlet of Rofen, where difficulty level S4 is reached. However, these short passages can simply be pushed through. In Rofen itself, the route leads past the Rofenhöfe farms and then along a valley path on the other side of the valley, a relatively easy, relaxed S0 single trail back to Vent.
Note: On summer days, the hut is very busy and the lift takes numerous hikers to the top. We therefore recommend tackling the tour outside of peak times.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
