Horlachtal
Description
From Umhausen, you initially climb on a gravel road along the Murbach and reach the village of Höfle. A little later, you head onto the Bergmähderweg trail, which rides slightly above the valley floor into the Horlachtal valley. Always at altitude, you finally reach the Larstighof farm. You could now continue through the Horlachtal valley, but we set off on a descent - which turns out to be another ascent a little later. Once again, you climb a few meters in altitude on a gravel road until the single trail begins on the right immediately after crossing the Grasstalbach stream. You follow this downhill, later reaching a forest road and taking it to Niederthai. And then there is another ascent: From Niederthai, you climb up to the Wiesle Alm. This is the starting point of the super trail down to the Nösslach Chapel on the Ötztal valley floor. This trail could be the wonderful end of the route if you cycle back to Umhausen along the cycle path from here. However, it is worth climbing up again from Winkeln, this time to Köfels. The reason for this is the single trail that rides down to the Ötztaler Ache from here. You now roll along the riverside path back to Umhausen.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
