Vernagthütte (Würzburger Haus)
Description
You start in the small village of Vent in Ötztal. From here, the route climbs steadily up an epic and idyllic forest road above the tree line with fabulous views. At the Wildspitze mountain station, the trail becomes steeper and steeper before you can pedal the last few meters of the forest road towards Breslauer Hütte. Pedaling comes to an end at Rofenbach. Here the bike is shouldered or pushed to the Breslauer Hütte. The Breslauer Hütte is on top in terms of construction and location. A magnificent view of the Ötztal mountains at the foot of the Wildspitze. From the Breslauer Hütte, the route then crosses the basin a few meters uphill and downhill in cross-country style on difficulty levels S1 to S2 until you finally arrive at the Vernagthütte. This is situated in a similarly idyllic location to the Breslauer Hütte in the middle of the picturesque mountain world. From here, the legendary trail descent begins. A fantastic single trail of difficulty S1 to S2 leads over the Vernagtegg to the valley station of the material cable car. Perfectly embedded in the landscape and above the vegetation line, it leaves nothing to be desired. At the Cyprian-Granbichler path, you take this in the direction of Rofen and from Rofen you change to the other side of the valley before you can take a valley path with difficulty S0 back to Vent.
Note: In summer, the route is sometimes very busy due to the gondola connection and the so-called "summer visitors". It is therefore advisable to tackle the tour anti-cyclically.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
