Gehsteigalm

Singletrail Ötztal

The secluded Gehsteigalm lies high above Umhausen. It is the starting point of a characterful single trail for experts. Steep, winding, varied. If you have your bike under control, you'll get your money's worth here.

Description

Steep is the main character of this tour. Not just on the descent, but also on the ascent. The gravel road from Tumpen winds its way up to the Vordere Tumpen Alm in seemingly countless bends. Now it's time to relax a little, even in the form of a short descent, until you reach the Gehsteigalm after another ascent. There used to be a lot going on here thanks to the inn. Today it is closed, and the reason for the alp as a destination is the upcoming singletrail back to Tumpen. This has everything that good bikers like: it is steep, agile and varied. There are so many hairpin bends that it's not worth counting them. The only downside. Far below, the route turns into a forest road for a section - until a singletrail reappears on the left for the final section. This rides right up to the edge of the forest near Tumpen.

Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
