Priener Hütte

Aussicht von Priener Hütte

The steep ascent to the Priener Hütte is rewarded with a fantastic view of the Wilder Kaiser. The Jägersteig trail is rocky and rooty and requires a high level of riding technique if you want to master it without dismounting.

Description

The partly steep ascent to the Priener Hütte begins opposite Sachrang at the parking lot. After 8 km you arrive at the Priener Hütte and can take a short break. It is a good idea to go up the Geigelstein to get a view of the wonderful Chiemgau region from above. Then continue up the mountain. After a short section on the cart path, the trail continues past the mountain rescue hut. You ride along the slope in beautiful alpine terrain and soon a wider trail begins past the Sulzingalm. Now the Jägersteig trail begins, which is not very steep at the start and then leads through the forest over high roots and stony ground. The terrain is not very steep, the challenge is the protruding roots. In the lower part, the Jägersteig becomes more flowy and easier to ride. You cross the forest road a few times until you ride onto a wider cart path on the left at the bottom and then back onto the cycle path just before Sachrang, which you follow back to the parking lot.
