Alpensöhnehütte
Description
The tour starts above the old town of Hall in Tirol. First you cycle uphill on the main road, later on side roads until you reach the gravel pit near Gnadenwald. From here, you switch to a gravel track and cycle steadily up the southern slopes through stone pine forests. The forest road rides up to an altitude of around 1100 meters above sea level and ends at a fork in the road. From this point, the route continues on foot: the bike is now pushed or carried through the forest to the Alpensöhnehütte, which is located at around 1400 meters above sea level. The hut is beautifully situated and offers a fantastic panorama of the Halltal valley and the Inntal valley in the Karwendel.
The downhill starts directly at the highest point of the tour and initially follows the same route as the ascent. The difficulty level of the descent is S2, in places S3. The descent is smoother and therefore much more enjoyable due to the staggered hairpin bends. Once you reach the fork in the forest road, the trail continues south along a path that is also S2 to S3 in difficulty. In the lower section along the Halltalbach stream, the path becomes easier and takes you directly into the settlement area, which you cross briefly on asphalt before crossing the Wießenbach stream at the Absamer Weg. Finally, an inviting trail section awaits you, which leads directly back to Hall in Tirol.
Note: In the summer months, it can get very warm on this south-facing tour. It is therefore advisable to start early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
