Arzler Alm
Description
The route starts in Bike-City Innsbruck near Innsbruck's landmark, the Golden Roof. From here, you meander along the Inn cycle path along the Inn promenade past Huttererpark, over the Mühlau bridge and up to Hungerburg castle on an idyllic uphill. You already have magnificent views of Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains. It's fascinating how the urban cityscape blends in with the alpine flair. At Hungerburg, the route then heads towards Höttinger Alm and then up to Arzler Alm at almost 1070 meters above sea level. The Arzler Alm is also a panoramic highlight and especially the avalanche barrier built in front of it, which is more reminiscent of ancient times than the present day.
From the Arzler Alm, you then head a few meters back onto the forest path before the familiar trail begins on the right. At difficulty level S2, you can give free rein to your trail skills on hairpin bends, flow passages, jumps, berms and drops and enjoy the descent. In the lower section, you then enter the city forest trail, which has a slight incline but is perfect for pump track training. The almost flat trail means that hardly any Elevation loss is lost, but a good number of trail meters are built up. All in all, the 500 vertical meters of descent feel like almost 1000 before you plunge back into urban city life at the end. Along Hofgasse, Pfarrgasse and at the Golden Roof, there are countless traditional places to stop for refreshments after the tour, which crown the end of this tour. This tour is also perfect as a day tour when passing through.
