Kögele

Kögele

The Sellrain offers countless bike peaks and trail options, with the descent from Kögele eastwards over the ridge being an absolute highlight in terms of landscape and riding technique.

Description

The tour starts in Sankt Quirin and rides along the sunny hillside, first briefly on asphalt and later steadily uphill on a gravel road. With a steady ascent, you reach an altitude of around 1850 meters above sea level. This is where the pedaling section ends and a decent section of carrying begins. Via a ridge crossing, you finally reach the highest point of the tour, the Kögele at almost 2200 meters above sea level. At the summit, you are rewarded with an impressive and far-reaching view: the Innsbruck Nordkette, the Karwendel mountains and the Wetterstein mountains offer a magnificent panorama that justifies the effort.

The descent begins on a trail with difficulty level S2 and rides along the entire slope above the vegetation line. Here, flowy riding is combined with breathtaking panoramic views. However, you should pay attention to the condition of the trail, as the erosion-prone ground can vary after heavy rainfall. From the Sonnenbankerl Meilser, you enter a wooded area where a varied root trail awaits. This section offers plenty more riding fun and leads directly back to the starting point.
