Serles

Serles (Stubaital)

The Serles towers over the Stubai Valley like a majestic mountain. From below, the mountain looks as if you couldn't ride a single meter. The descent and the view are an MTB highlight of North Tyrol for all those who like alpine mountains.

Description

The tour starts at the beginning of the Stubaital, just above Medraz. From here, the route is initially very steep on the official cycle route to the Wildeben inn. Bend after bend, you fight your way mercilessly up to an altitude of almost 1800 m above sea level. You then have to shoulder your bike for around 1000 vertical meters up to the Serlesjöchl and further up to the Serles. From the Serlesjöchl, there is a short, secured passage with steps. However, this artificial interlude is no problem for bikers with alpine experience. At the summit (2717 meters above sea level), you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view that reveals numerous striking mountains on a clear day.

The descent from the summit is technically challenging, with difficulty levels S3 to S4. Some sections are unrideable, but the rest of the trail offers an epic riding experience in the style of the Dolomites. After the Serlesjöchl, the stair passage awaits again before you take the trail towards Wildeben. Here, too, the brakes are put under a lot of strain, as the descent in difficulty level S3 requires maximum concentration.

After Wildeben, the descent through the forest doesn't get any easier either. Numerous hairpin bends, steep steps and root passages await bikers, with the difficulty level being S3 in places and S4 in others. The steepness and nature of the terrain make the descent from Serles, which is around 1600 vertical meters long, a challenging but magnificent bike tour.

From Kampl, the route finally leads back to the starting point on forest and meadow paths as well as via the fairytale forest trail and thus to the end of the tour.

Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
