Largoz

Largoz (Innsbruck)

The somewhat unconventional name Largoz is derived from Latin and means "overgrown with larches". The mountain to the east of Innsbruck offers an impressive and seemingly endless trail descent with a fantastic mountain panorama.

Description

The tour starts in Wattens. The route initially rides on asphalt towards Vögelsberg before the surface changes to gravel. A seemingly endless but scenically rewarding ascent leads up to the Largozalm. Refreshing cold drinks await you there in the water trough - and an impressive panoramic view over the Inn Valley opens up right here.

Continue southwards on the Largozweg until an unmarked path branches off. Now it's time to push or carry your mountain bike. The last few meters to the summit require some effort, but reward you with a view that is one of the most impressive in the region. From the summit, the panorama extends from the Nordkette mountain range deep into the Tyrolean Unterland and Oberland - a real highlight of this tour.

From here, the next highlight begins: the trail descent. Technically challenging, the start is at an S2 to S3 level and leads directly back to the Largozalm. If you prefer, you can also choose the alternative route via the southern section and the second summit cross. From the alpine pasture, the trail winds downhill through pine and larch forests, with playful passages and tight bends at difficulty level S2, until you reach the Krepperhütte.

From the hut, there is a short counter-climb of around 80 meters in altitude before you dive into the next trail sections. These run through dense forests and offer flowing sections with difficulty levels ranging from S1 to S2. After a seemingly endless descent, you finally reach Wattens again - filled with alpine trail happiness and with many impressions in your luggage.

Note: The tour is generally easy to do with an e-mountainbike, as long as you accept the 100-metre push section to the summit. If you want to avoid this, you can alternatively join the trail directly at the Largozalm.

Note: The route is located on Austrian territory and leads over routes that are not approved for mountain bikers. Riding this route on a mountain bike is the responsibility of each individual, in full awareness of the legal situation.
