Monte Navado
Description
The starting point is the bridge over the Tagliamento at Villa Santina. From here, the asphalt road carved in stone leads up to Villa and then past Monte Verzegnis to the highest point of the tour, Monte Navado (802 meters above sea level). The last few meters are reached on unpaved terrain. At this point, the first trail section heading east begins. On difficulty level S2, the route passes Villa and then crosses the entire ridge to Ponte Avons. From Ponte Avons you take a 180 degree turn and pedal on asphalt, past Chiáulis, again past Lago di Verzegnis and then again towards Monte Navado. Shortly before the summit, however, you take the trail to the west. There are a few fixtures, as well as bridges, jumps, drops, etc. on the varied and somewhat challenging descent back to the starting point. At the bottom of the tour, you come to Cascata Piera and a waterfall, as well as some installations of the Vallo Alpino defense system from the 1940s.
In general, the area is full of lost places and bunkers. So if you have a flashlight with you, you can explore these facilities undisturbed, as an open-air museum has been set up in some places.
