The tour starts in Cavazzo Carnico. From here, the route follows the bike path, which runs parallel to the SR512 main road, toward Ponte Avons. You then ride up the main road toward Verzegnis and reach the Lago di Verzegnis reservoir. You circle the lake on the so-called Verzegnis Trail along engineering structures on the northern shore, which gives the ride a slightly adventurous feel. By the time you cross the bridge, you’ll have an unobstructed view of the entire lake, before heading uphill on asphalt with moderate gradients toward Sella Chianzutan. Here, you then turn left and pedal meter by meter uphill on gravel to Casera Avrint. Casera Avrint is a beautifully situated small hut that was recently renovated and lies at just under 1,100 meters above sea level. The view is impressive, offering a vista to the north of the Tolmezzo basin and the main Alpine ridge.

The descent then begins. A typical Friuli trail awaits mountain bikers, rated S2 for difficulty. However, depending on weather and wet conditions, the difficulty can increase significantly. On classic forest terrain, the route winds downhill in a series of hairpin turns to the Torrente Faeit. After crossing the stream bed and a short uphill section, a descent begins that alternates between singletrack, gravel paths, and paved roads, finally ending back at the Torrente Faeit. Here, the official GPX track turns right and leads to a massive Vallo Alpino bunker. Those who bring a light source or a spirit of discovery can explore it. For everyone else, the route heads straight back to Cavazzo Carnico, where the loop closes. On this tour, please note that in the lower part of the Pulsea Valley, you must cross a ford whose condition varies depending on weather conditions and water levels. For electric mountain bikes, carrying the bike through this section can be particularly challenging due to the extra weight.
