Jof di Muec

Jof di Muec

With the mountain ridge and the inconspicuous Jof di Muec peak, Moggio Udinese offers a short but technically challenging enduro route in the heart of Friuli.

Description

The tour begins in the picturesque village of Moggio Udinese, where the Val Aupa and the River Aupa flow into the Fella. The route first heads north up the SP112 town road into Val Aupa on asphalt. At the junction towards Pradis, turn right and continue along the road with inviting panoramic views until you reach the saddle. Here you turn right onto a cart track and then follow the hiking trail, which rides up to Jof di Muec. The crossing is lengthy, impassable and characterized by constant ups and downs. Once you reach Jof di Muec, a small cross marks the summit, but the view is limited by the dense vegetation.

From here, the descent along the ridge begins directly towards the starting point. The path is steep, peppered with hairpin bends and roots and runs along the forest floor. This route is only really enjoyable in dry conditions. Elevation loss after Elevation loss, you wind your way down a technically challenging route, with difficulty levels S2 to S3 throughout. Finally, you reach the asphalt road again at Torrente Aupa, cross it and complete the loop.

Note: For e-bikers, the crossing in the upper section is very intense due to the constant ups and downs. If you are not afraid to push or carry your bike for short periods, you can still tackle the loop on an e-bike.
