The route starts in the small village of Piani di Sotto in the Raccolana Valley. From here, you wind your way along the main road and later on a small side road towards the Sella Nevea Pass. Once you reach the saddle, the route is relatively steep on asphalt towards Malga Montasio. Malga Montasio is very popular and you can expect a lot of excursion traffic here, especially at weekends. The mountain pasture itself is located on a small high plateau and is at the top of the panorama. In good weather, you have a view of the Kanin mountain range and the surrounding mountains are at your feet.
