The starting point is Venzone. Above the beautiful and historic town center, you climb up the Val Venzonassa on the official cycle route on gravel and asphalt with a mix of varying and moderate difficulties until you finally arrive at Malga Ungarina. The lengthy but epic uphill is a dream, especially in spring, as the orientation perfectly crosses the south-facing slopes and provides optimum warmth. At Malga Ungarina, you have a fabulous view towards Venzone and Tagliamento.
From a mix of difficulty S1 and S2, occasionally S3, the descent feels like half an eternity. At the beginning, however, you reach a short counter-climb in the trail, where you have to overcome around 50 meters in altitude. For over six kilometers, you can look forward to a perfect mule trail that is only damaged in places by individual water crossings. Some of the sections are a little exposed, which means that special attention must be paid to the line. From the Chiesa di Sant'Antonio Abate in particular, the trail is absolutely perfect and a pleasure to ride. The loop closes right at the end of the trail.
