Monte Staulizze

Monte Staulizza

Monte Staulizze in Friuli at the entrance to the Val Resia valley offers a small but excellent all-mountain tour that is accessible almost all year round.

Description

The starting point is the small village of Resiutta. From here, you follow the main road towards Val Resia for a few hundred meters before turning left onto a very steep, concrete ramp towards Monte Staulizze. The ascent has a typical Italian flair and only allows a few sections for a relaxed uphill, so you reach your destination all the faster. At the summit, you have a good view to the north towards Chiusaforte, as well as a view of the Carnic Alps.

The descent begins at difficulty level S1, in places S2. The route continues along a completely historic path towards the small village of San Giorgio. From San Giorgio, head to Localitá Tapar Tigo, where you cross the Torrente Resia and then take a flowing S1 trail along the Torrente Resia to Povici di sotto. You can let off steam on the Sentiero 703a. An absolute trail pleasure is offered here. Finally, there is a small uphill section before you take the last trail to the Resiutta starting point.
